Date Weekend!

Yesterday was Wednesday!!!! That means it's almost been a week. I do have solid excuses though! Yesterday was Michael's day off from job #2, so I spent the evening with him. Monday I worked at the Wades with Michael and then went to Atlanta to hang out with my good pal Sam. Sunday we had dinner with my family. Saturday was Halloween!
Sadly, Michael had to work, but I went to Newnan to trick-or-treat with Kennedy. He was PETER PAN! And flippin' adorable, as usual. I went as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's. It was fun! A little misty outside, but we had a good time.

Friday night is my favorite Yesterday to report on! Michael had a surprise date for me! He took me to a Hawks basketball game at Phillips Arena!
It was so much fun! I never thought I was a basketball fan, but that must be from having to play it in P.E. every day in middle school. The game was awesome though! It was a pretty close game most of the time. They played the Washington Wizards. During half time the mascot and the A-Town Dancers did the Thriller!!! It was so funny. Michael really liked the SkyHawks! They also performed. It's basketball players who basically do stunts. Very cool! Michael would love to do that for a living I'm sure!
After the game he took me to Hard Rock Cafe, Atlanta! Hard Rock is our place. We went to the one in New Orleans for our honeymoon, and then the one in Miami for our first anniversary. AMAZING FOOD, and not nearly as expensive as you'd expect it to be. If you go, you must have their twisted macaroni and cheese.
We had such an awesome time, but since it wasn't our anniversary we didn't get shirts (as we plan to do for every anniversary we can!) but we did get a souvenir glass for buying one of the smoothies for Pinktober (their breast cancer awareness stuff.)

All in all, a successful weekend, indeed! Today I am cleaning/getting stuff done. Tomorrow a brunch at a friends, and then Saturday dinner in Atlanta with the whole fam damily!

Love!

Mercedes

Yesterday was spent alone at home for most of the day, which isn't unusual. Sometimes I find entertainment by watching our furbaby Mercedes do some pretty fun stuff. Lately she's been finding naps inside of a water bottle box (with the wrapper still on top, so it's like an igloo!) It's better than her sleeping on our clothes!

Visiting Teaching in the Rain

Yesterday, it rained all day! Not stopping even once I believe. Not hard, just raining. Yesterday was also the first day of visiting teaching with my new companion. Her name is Rachel and she has the cutest little baby! It felt nice to get out of the apartment while Michael was at work and get something done! We have four ladies on our list and saw all of them! Rachel and her mother made pumpkin bread to give out, and it was delicious! Thankfully I got a half a loaf too :D
Michael has been doing nothing but work work work! Right now I'm doing the stay at home thing due to our car circumstances. He is working two jobs. He leaves around 8 am, goes to job number 1, then around 1:30 comes home to change and then goes to job number 2. Then he gets off work at 11:30!! I don't know how he does it, but I'm thankful he does.
Yesterday I was talking to my VT companion about my nephew and I was totally gonna cry. My brother and his wife are moving to Chicago for an awesome job offer. I'm sad about it because I absolutely LOVE my nephew and my brother and his wife and they are due for baby #2 in six months! I'll have to go to FREEZING CHICAGO to see the baby. (And you know I will!)
Today the plan is to get Michael new shoes so his feet aren't on fire at work. Annnnd now--to yoga!

No Empty Yesterdays, Beginning Today

Lately I have been thinking about all the things in my life I want to be good at doing. I'd like to keep the house neater (I know, I know: It can be a lifelong process but C'MON! There's only TWO of us!), I want to be more crafty, I want to COOK more meals, I want to have habits like yoga every morning and keeping up with this stinkin' blog!
I feel that every time I get on to actually post instead of just keeping up with everyone else, I think to myself, "What am I actually going to say?" There's too much to write for the time I have, but when I put it off there's just more and more to add, and then I end up summarizing and leaving out some really great stuff that's happening in my life. I feel like I only hit on the big points like when something really life changing happens, which isn't always great news, unfortunately. I would like to do a better job at keeping a blog that makes me laugh in five years. Or makes my friends laugh when they read it! (My dear friend BonZombie writes the BEST STUFF EVER. I laugh EVERY TIME.)
To quote the movie, 'The Music Man,' "Pile up too many tomorrows and you'll find that you've collected nothing but a bunch of empty yesterdays."

So from now on, I will start off by saying: Yesterday, Today, or Tonight, and then tell you about that day.

HUZZAH! To no more empty yesterdays!

August/September/Rad Vacation/Not so rad car crap

I always feel like I need to take a deep breath before starting, trying to recall where we last left off?
Well last month we had the AWESOME opportunity to see Michael's family. His parents flew us out there and MAN did we have a blast! We hiked HALf DOME (I NEARLY DIED!!! I was so tired. But now that I no longer cringe with the memory of the pain I endured, I now feel awesome!) then we had a Peterson get-together, a pool party with the Tolmans, I WENT TO DISNEY LAND FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! It was magical. We went horseback riding... we were took shopping and we celebrated Michael's parents' birthdays, we drove to AZ for our new neice's blessing. It was just an awesome trip. Truely amazing.
For those wondering (if at all) we are literally surrounded by the flood tragedies in GA. We are RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of it. However, our home has been kept safe, as well as Michael and I. Unfortunately we have had our own tragedy of sorts. We were in a car accident this weekend when four cars racing on the interstate ran amuck, leaving a car sitting in the middle of the interstate 20 feet in front of us. I'm sore, but other than that we are safe. We even drove the car home, but with all the debris in the tires, as well as the smashed headlight, tire well, etc... it's not driveable. Michael's car has been sitting at my parents for a month needing to be fixed and we have been opperating out of one car already. SO. We are thankful that we have our lives, but please keep us in your prayers as I'm looking for a new job, needing to fix two cars, and keeping dry on our hill.

In other news... we are happy. Believe it or not, we're still happy. Sometimes we're scared and worried, but we have each other, our family, and our friends and we are so grateful for all these things.

Pictures, eh?

Indeed, a lot more has happened than I let on usually, and I do photograph quite a bit of it. So I'm adding some pictures just to kind of show you what we've been up to here and there.
After we came back to GA from FL, one of the great benefits is being able to see my awesome nephew, Kennedy, and my sweet niece, Marilyn. I love it, and I'm so happy that Shelby and Ashley are pregnant again!!

Kennedy and I at a park in Newnan. He was so funny, gasping and laughing like he didn't know what to think of the water shooting out of the ground!

We also like spending time with our friend Ashley in Douglasville. We go out to eat, go to drive-in movies, and sometimes just sit around and watch movies.

Goofing around at one of my favorites, Longhorn! Mmmm, Firecracker Chicken Wraps!

Michael is not a huge "special day" kind of guy, but I told him that by the time I'm done with him he's gonna be itching for his birthdays. This year I took Michael, my brother, Lee, and his wife, April, to Stone Mountain. We've both been there before, but never together. Michael loved it! It was such a fun day.

3D glasses for the 4D show! Stylin'

Walking across the green to the lifts!

On the trail down the mountain.

We also attended a plethora of pool parties and went on a vacation with my family. I also went with my mom up to TN for a wedding.

ACTUAL BILLBOARD IN NEW ORLEANS:

Hahhahahhaha, and that's all for now. I might add some more later today, but I'm at work and actually need to get some stuff done. <3

Lovin's!

Whoops!

So I haven't updated in a month.. or two? I'll make a long story short, how's that?
Michael and I went to Miami, but the office didn't do well and was closed (we were actually sent home before they closed, which sucked, but we made it work), so after only about a month of Sunny Isles Beach, FL, we are back in Douglasville, GA. We quickly found a new apartment of the tiny variety :) and are back in our old ward. Michael went back to work for the Wade's, but summer is really slow for them and sometimes he only has the opportunity to work about 10 hours a week. LUCKILY my parents hired me and I've been working about full time for them.
Michael and I have had a lot of fun stuff going on since we've been back. We went on vacation with my family to Perdido Key, FL, and also went down to New Orleans to see my cousin Trey and his family. It was WAY fun. Amidst all of this Michael has decided to join the air force. I'm more than happy to follow him and I believe the military is a wonderful choice for anyone. This Thursday and Friday he has MEPS, and then we'll find out when he goes to basic.
I'm not at work today because I don't feel well, but tomorrow I'll try to throw some pictures up in this joint.
Sorry we haven't been keeping this up. :( I'll try harder.
